Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor is probably one of the most eligible ‘singles’ in the country. Since it’s Valentine’s Day today, we use it as an excuse to prod her on her ideal man and her idea of love. So, does she believe in love? “Absolutely! I do believe in love. I do believe that love makes the world go round,” she says, and adds with a smile, “I’d like to have a successful marriage not for the sake of labelling or branding, but because I believe in the institution of marriage.”
The self-confessed romantic also says, “I am naive when it comes to love, you know what I mean? I do believe in falling in love at first sight and things like that.”
She has played the woman in love in many films, such as Raanjhanaa, Thank You and Aisha. But what kind of boys does she like in real life? “I like bad boys ... not really bad but men with an edge.... they should be clean but have that streak,” giggles the 28-year-old.
Sonam, who grew up with posters of James Dean, Tom Cruise and Salman Khan in her room and is now working with Khan in Sooraj Barjatya’s next, describes her ideal man as someone who respects women. “He should treat me really well. I don’t like men who treat women like arm candies. He should treat me like an equal or better. And then he should be a good human being. He should see the human side of things. I like men who stand up for what’s right and who don’t cheat.” And, she shares that her upcoming film with actor Ayushmann Khurrana, too, is an intense love story.
